Confessions Of A Wedding Planner

Happy hump day! Wednesdays mean we have more time in the week to pack in appointments, venue walk throughs, contracts, phone calls, and all the other good stuff that goes into the life as a wedding planner. We thought it would be fun this week to let you in on the flip side of it all. What we expect from you! As an event planner, we have a lot on our plate, and trust me, we love every second of it. There are times, however, we reach for the bubbly at 2 pm and laugh at the to-do list we only have half crossed off. Not that we’re complaining about some mid-day bubbly, but sometimes that urge comes at 8 am.. and then.. we really know it’s going to be an interesting day!

We Expect Honesty

Only you know your vision. Our first expectation from you is for your to be as upfront and honest about everything from what you want on your big day, what your budget is, and what your priorities are. When we find out months into planning you had your heart set on a certain vendor, or can’t live without a specific floral arrangement, it throws a major kink in the works and leaves us scrambling to get that item. We will do our best to ask you the big questions so we know what to go after, but without your input, we’re not planning your dream day! Be open, honest, and upfront about any obstacles that may get in the way. This includes an family drama we may need to brace ourselves for! We can tackle anything with a little forewarning!

Respect The Contract!

We spend a lot of time with contracts, and ours is no different. We have certain guidelines, rules, and clauses spelled out to avoid confusion in any given situation. If you have questions, we’re happy to go over it. We are happy to help, but there are certain times even we have to put the phone on silent or let you know it’s not in our agreement to help you lick and stamp every envelope for your invitations. In the end, we are a professional and have a business to maintain. We also have our families and other responsibilities to juggle.

In the end, our top priority is to get your dream wedding accomplished while having fun doing it. We want everything to go as smoothly as possible. With some honest conversation and a transparent agreement on our mutual expectations, we will do everything we can to make your vision come to life – and share some bubbly in the meantime!
