Holiday Outfit Trends

Ho ho ho! I can’t believe it but Christmas is three days away. AHHHH! If you’re anything like me your holiday outfit has yet to be picked out and you’ll be out on Wednesday night braving the holiday shopping madness looking for cute shoes. This year is especially difficult for me because I’m six and a half months pregnant and believe that leggings equal fancy clothes these days. I won’t apologize for it either!

Since the internets is flooded with holiday decor inspiration, today for #ontrendtuesdays, I bring you three Holiday Outfit Trends. This week we’ll focus on Christmas outfits and next week, NYE. I’ll live through you all since my outfit will consist of leggings this Christmas, don’t believe me just watch. Well check Insta, I’ll post the obligatory family picture. 😉

1. Faux Fur

Yes, fur is back with a vengeance. Although temps are supposed to be in the high 60’s this Christmas you can still wear this trend to your family’s holiday get together. A cute faux fur vest pairs well over a sweater dress, with a cute top and jeans, and yes – even leggings. Target has a super cute affordable faux fur for under $40, and the palace of fashionista on a budget aka, Forever 21, has an amazing collection of faux fur pieces.

2. All Black Everything

I’m excited to say that the monochrome look is no longer just for wedding planners. Black is back and in a big way, thanks Kimye! Yes, I just thanked Kimye… Don’t be afraid to rock all black to your holiday get together. Paired with a pop of color on the lips or a bright, bold handbag you look totally chic. For the holidays mix in a deep merlot to give it a bit of holiday flair. I’m crushing on this black ensemble from ASOS. *sidenote this look isn’t observed for just black, feel free to wear all ivory or if you’re bold all white.

3. Peep Toe Booties

Okay, I’ll admit I HATED the bootie trend when it began. I just couldn’t understand why any sane person would take a perfectly good boot and cut a hole in the toe. But…as the temperatures hover around 60 (that’s Spring weather for us peeps) I can’t help but to love this trend. What a great way to show off your amazing pedi for just a bit longer. These Nine West booties are on my “after Maia comes list”.

So, what trends are you most looking forward to? I can’t wait to rock my fur vest and booties (with leggings). Comment below or come on over to Instagram and share your thoughts.

Until next time, happy planning!
