Rainy Wedding Day? No Problem!

With so much rain in our forecast lately, it can be a big stressor to anticipate the weather on your big day. With so much planning, we make sure to include back up plans for adverse weather no matter what the venue, theme, or guest list size. As a planner who has seen her fair share of Spring and Summer storms pop out of the blue, I always put the best spin on some wet weather to use it as an advantage. Put on your parkas, we have some tips to create magic out of that unexpected forecast.

Wedding Tent

Pitch A Tent

With any outdoor wedding, a tent should be in your plans to shield your guests from any adverse conditions whether it be the glaring sun or the unexpected shower. Having a tent will create a space for dinner, drinks, and even dancing when the forecast turns to rain while still providing the ambiance of a natural space. We love this tent because of the windows to let in light, set the mood, and allow guests to embrace the weather, rather than hide from it. A tent is also great for that fleeting shower to ensure your meal will be bug-free while letting in that sweet, cool breeze. Once the rain drops stop, your guests can exit and mingle as if it never happened!

Rain Boots Bride

Don Your Wellies

What is more adorable that a bride who matches her wellies to her bouquet? In this scenario, we had a good idea of the upcoming weather and decided to completely embrace it. With an outdoor venue and race against the clock to finalize the touches, our bride pulled out her forest green Hunter rain boots and opted to create a photoshoot emphasizing the rustic, vintage charm to her theme. We absolutely loved the creativity and how her photos came out!

Make It Romantic

A romantic kiss in the rain is an absolute must have for any iconic love story in a film, so why not bring it into the most important day in your own relationship? Honestly, who could ask for a perfect photo of you and your groom’s wedding day? By playing with the light off raindrops and enhancing the appearance of this summer shower, the most mesmerizing and stunning photos were captured of this couple embracing after they said, “I do,”! Kind of makes you want to wish for rain on your day too, doesn’t it?

No matter what, all the planning in the world can’t control the weather! Embrace it! You have waited months (or years!) to tie the knot with your love, so what would a couple rain drops or wind do to really unravel your beautiful wedding. Cue in your planner with an umbrella in one hand, a tent company on call, and plenty of ponchos on deck to combat any weather! Half the fun in the unexpected, which is why as a wedding planner, we plan for it all. We’ll keep the floral arrangements perked and the food hot, we’ll shield your hair and makeup and let your photographer capture the beauty of it all. Let your rainy wedding day become magical like a true movie of your love.

Until next time, happy planning!
