Real talk: What was your biggest wedding planning obstacle?

I’d have to say the biggest obstacle was consistently having to get over the price tag hurdle. It is really hard when you’re paying a mortgage, student loans, unsure of a career and kind of in flux professionally, haven’t taken a vacation in 3 years and still have to put food on the table to justify some of the costs that come along with a wedding. Especially when you have about 200 people on your guest list. So I would say that was def my biggest obstacle.

How did you handle day-of jitters?

Hand to God, I had none. Not one ounce of me was nervous. The only thing I worried about was if I was going to get tired early because I was up at 5am (I didn’t). The anticipation of the day, the excitement, the energy, it all kind of envelopes you and carries you along until all the sudden its over. And I know everyone says it, but holy shit it goes by so fast.

When did it all feel worth it?

When the doors opened to our reception for Nick and I to make an entrance and everyone was standing and waving their napkins and so excited. Nick and I looked at each other and at the moment it was clear that every single penny we saved, every night out we missed, every outfit we didn’t buy, or vacation we didn’t take for the last year was worth it. You instantly understand what it was all for and its worth it.

Any post-wedding woes?

I am not the girl who is bored now that I have nothing to plan. I hated it. It was too many moving parts, to many things to keep track of and too many people asking you questions. Never again! I would say my biggest woe is the fact that the day itself is over. It was legitimately the best day of my life and it goes by so fast. I want to relive it. Our friends keep telling us we have to get married again…but I’d have to start a GoFundMe lol!
