Caitlin and Chris celebrated their wedding reception at The Litchfield Inn after an intimate ceremony at St. Anthony of Padua Church in Litchfield. We took a quick detour to Topsmead State Park for some formal photos in the lush September foliage. Yep, you read that right, September of 2020! We had some interesting obstacles on the way but I am so thankful to have worked with such a wonderful couple. Most importantly, we made it happen! With some changes to logistics and a lot of preparation on the timeline, Caitlin and Chris’s wedding day was their fairytale they dreamed of!
Chris & Caitlin met long before they became a couple. For almost 3 years before they started dating, they were already inseparable. Having met at the Warner Theatre where Chris worked and Caitlin volunteered, they grew close through their shared love of technical theater and became great friends. As is not uncommon, their friendship blossomed into something more and Chris was starting to realize that he was falling in love, unbeknownst to Caitlin, who had no idea his feelings had changed.
It was around this time when Caitlin, after being laid off from her job the year before, had put her foot down and decided she would go out of state to find another job. She informed the theater of her plan to move, explaining she might not be available to volunteer in the future. Chris, however, was not willing to let her go without telling her how he felt about her. But at the time, Caitlin wasn’t sure she wanted to be in a relationship. Determined to show her how serious he was about her, Chris offered to help Caitlin with repairs around her house as well as picking up her groceries, a TV, new furniture, etc. Whenever Caitlin needed some thing Chris was somehow always around to help. And when Caitlin mentioned she needed a TV stand and a bookcase, but didn’t wanna spend a lot of money on it, Chris completely created and built them for her.
As they became closer, they hung out together much more frequently, attending movies, shopping, going hiking, etc. and Chris continued to always be there for her whenever she needed him, But the tenor of the relationship definitely changed into something more than a friendship. After Caitlin went to her interview but was not offered the out of state job, she agreed to go on a date with Chris. The rest is the beginning of their Happily-Ever-After.
