How To Be A Great Client!

We received so many positive comments from our “Confessions Of A Wedding Planner” blurb we wanted to expand and touch on a couple more key points. We heard from fellow vendors and clients alike asking for an untouched subject: tips on being a great client to your wedding planner! Once booked, a relationship is formed that will guide you down the aisle and show off your love. What happens between appointments?

We truly do love our clients!

We also spend a lot of time and sacrifice many things going on in our lives to make sure your day is absolute perfection, so we expect a little courtesy in return! As wedding planners, we lay out everything crystal clear in our contracts so there is no confusion. We know you’re stressed but make sure you take a look over these details so we’re all on the same page! A couple tips will keep all vibes positive as we embark on this wonderful planning journey together.

Respect any boundaries.

We put certain clauses and guidelines in our contracts for a reason. We try to keep it as simple as possible so you have a chance to look it over and ask any questions you may have right off the bat. Transparency is key! If we say all calls have to be scheduled, we aren’t expecting a call at 7 a.m. to chat about your menu. We have families, other responsibilities, and other clients to cater to as well. Know what you’re signing to and have a conversation about anything you’re uncertain of.

Don’t pull us into drama.

Sure, we are great mediators and will go to extra lengths to help diffuse a wedding day situation or help you and your fiancé compromise while making big choices. What we don’t want is to be your go to gal for family drama, friend feuds, or personal matters that we really should not be a part of. We love getting to know our clients and make a big effort to create a personal and professional balance. Sort out any unrelated drama on your own!

Be decisive.

This is a huge day. We are here to guide you in making decisions on major details, vendors, and so much more. We ask you to get in the mindset of being decisive. Start compromising with your partner to not drag it out. Often, many things can get booked up quickly. I you take too long to give the green light, the vendor you want may become unavailable for your date.

Most importantly, be flexible.

We are professionals which mean we know many tips and tricks. For most, this is the first time planning a wedding and it can be overwhelming. That’s why you hired us! When we explain something or guide you away from an inspiration you found, it’s because we’re looking out for your budget, aesthetic, and every detail of the wedding as a whole. By not getting stuck on that one specific linen, vendor, or floral arrangement you will be opening up your possibilities to more options that could be even better! Let us do our job while you enjoy the journey!

Until next time, happy planning!
