The Journal
It’s here. The most notorious “Hallmark Holiday” to ever exist- Valentine’s Day. While some people despise this day set aside for love birds, we happen to enjoy it here at Lauren O and Co. We really LOOOVE us some love and think that celebrating it is a pretty dope thing (hence our obsession with weddings). If we’re being honest, we also love gifts, dinner, and some bubbly with our bae-so let’s celebrate!
It is a rare occasion that Valentine’s Day lands on the weekend, but next year it lands on a perfect day for a wedding- a Friday. Now some of ya’ll may be thinking that a Valentine’s Day wedding would be tacky, but I’m here to tell you, straight up, you’re wrong. 2/14/2020 would be an epic wedding date, and make Valentine’s Day celebrations and wedding anniversaries that much easier to remember for everyone involved.
Have we piqued your interested in a Cupid themed wedding? Here are a few reasons why we love the idea of throwing a party for love on Valentine’s Day!
A lot of times anniversary dates end up long forgotten by those who attended the wedding. We all know that anniversary dates are hard to remember (unless you are a Cancer-the sentimental sign). With a Valentine’s Day wedding, it is nearly impossible to forget. It is a day that is nationally recognized as a day to celebrate love and you and your boo did just that. Not to mention, Target will start reminding you as soon as Christmas is over!
A Valentine’s day dinner and dancing – no reservations required. Your guests will love that they can spend their Valentine’s Day celebrating love without overpaying and waiting forever to be served. A Valentines Day wedding allows all of those close to you to spend an all inclusive day filled with love right by your side.
Pro tip: Incorporate some of your VIPs love stories into your day. Allow guests to share their wedding song with your DJ and incorporate them into your slow song line up. This is a great way to get everyone lost in their feels for the entire wedding!
Having a wedding on Valentine’s Day really cuts down the stress of choosing a theme for your wedding. It is a safe bet to go with ruby reds, blush pinks, and whites. Not too keen on the girly hues of Valentine’s Day? How about a classic black and white theme, with a few subtle pops of a deep burgundy or red. In the flowers, in the place settings, even in the signature drink. Need a signature drink idea? Boo’zed Up (shouts to Ella Mai) would be our choice.
There are so many themed options that still look classic and classy.
Leading up to Valentine’s Day is when jewelry stores are constantly reminding anyone who listens to the radio, watches TV, or reads the paper that diamonds are a girls best friend. It is also when those jewelry stores run sales on their diamonds!
Diamonds aren’t the only place you can snag a Valentine’s Day Deal. Booking a romantic honeymoon can also result in a cost savings this time of year. Travel is already lower because it is February, but you can often find sweetheart deals on hotels, bungalows, and all inclusive getaways. All the money you save on your bling and your honeymoon can be used to make sure that mini bar stays stocked.
We are going to be honest, if you love these ideas and want a Valentine’s Day wedding, 2020 is already a huge year for weddings, so get on it! It won’t land on a Friday again until 2025. Want some help planning? Yes, please! Give us a call!
