The Maxwell

The Maxwell is one of the new kids on the block, having just opened its doors in the Spring of 2021. When you arrive you’re greeted by their beautifully manicured lawn and patio outfitted with romantic market lights and real gas copper lanterns. Modern, oversized french doors welcome you into the main event space where you are immediately drawn to look up because of the 18′ ceilings and modern chandeliers. The venue’s clean lines, high ceilings, and neutral walls and floors make it amenable to any style. What do we love most? It’s four miles away from Downtown Raleigh, so close enough to enjoy all the city has to offer, but just far enough away from the hustle and bustle of Downtown.

The Distillery

Another new venue to enter the market in 2021 is The Distillery. We love this venue’s whole vibe – think boutique hotel meets modern industrial. The Distillery is a hidden gem. Although technically in Garner, it’s a quick ten-minute ride from the city. When you enter the space you are immediately drawn to the dramatic windows and modern brass chandeliers of The White Room. Surrounding the space is the gathering space perfect for cocktail hour. Not to be outdone, there is an entire cottage, The Modern Cottage, perfect for large bridal parties. The best hidden surprise, the bathrooms! It’s clear that no detail was missed and we especially enjoyed the swing in the ladies’ room.

Raleigh Union Station

This venue is by far the most unique of the new wedding venues in Raleigh, NC. It is after all an actual train station. We love the fun and urban feel of this venue. While it is set in an active train station, the venue does a great job of creating a private space for wedding guests. You have full use of the Great Hall and you can also rent the upper mezzanine terrace which overlooks the Warehouse District in Downtown Raleigh. The train station feels modern and new yet many of the details from the original historic building are still intact. The architecture is beautiful. Tall soaring windows, exposed steel beams, so much character!
