I love jewelry so I’m really excited about the custom jewelry trend that is on the rise right now. Brides are able to have custom pieces created that are meaningful and really capture the essence of who they are. I knew right away that I wanted include a bracelet in the gift bags of our Wifey for Life ladies. I wanted something custom and of course…it had to have a little touch of gold. I also knew that I wanted the bracelet to be made by a local creative. One of the goals of this workshop is to showcase Connecticut vendors because we really do have some amazing vendors out there! So I set out to find a local vendor willing to sponsor a bracelet for the workshop.

While scrolling through Instagram I came across a picture of the most awesome gold beaded bracelet. I immediately clicked on the shop’s page and fell in love with their work. I googled the shop’s name and almost hit the floor when I saw that the shop was based in Connecticut. Score! I reached out to Alyssa, explained the workshop and hoped like heck she would be interested. Alyssa responded right away with a resounding YES!

Every Wifey attending the workshop will receive a custom pink and gold bracelet made locally and with love by Beads by Alyssa. With this month being breast cancer awareness month the pink bead is so very appropriate. And that touch of gold, well that’s all Lauren O. I mean, who doesn’t love gold!!

Who or what do you look to for inspiration?

My father who passed away from cancer is the reason I began “beading” to relieve stress and today I continue in his honor because it is my passion. I’m also find inspiration in inspired everyday things, simplicity. I love simple yet unique. Taking something simple and adding a pop of “wow I never thought of that”. I love challenging myself to think outside the box. I love to feed off of other people’s energy and put my own simple spin on things.
